We Will Be Back In 2014

Due to the incredible success of this weekend’s Brighouse 1940s event, we are happy to announce that we WILL be back in 2014, the first weekend in June!

Thank you to everyone who turned up, who left positive comments and who helped to run the event. A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into things and it is extremely pleasing to hear such positivity, which has helped us to decide next years running. We never expected such a turn out!

Proof that Brighouse is the place to be!

We’ll see you again on June 7th & 8th, 2014

Myself and my husband attended both days this weekend…..and had a wonderful time, and looking forward to 2014….going to spread the word for next year !!

  9. Just a thought. This date coincides with the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings and I know quite a few re-enactors who are planning to be in Normandy with war veterans.

  11. Well done to all involved. A brilliant weekend! Thought the 1940s newspaper was excellent. Loved the tea and cakes set up on the main street. Looking forward to next year 🙂

  13. On behalf of Northern Forties, we would like to congratulate everyone who helped to organise this weekend’s event at Brighouse. We rarely take part in events that are so well attended by members of the public so interested in our collections, and we are thrilled that this first-time event has proven to be a huge success for all concerned. We would like to thank you for organising the gazebos for us to display from, and the camping area we had at Thornhills Lane was a wonderful location with excellently clean facilities provided for our use.

Our members thoroughly enjoyed themselves and would be more than willing to attend this event again if you should want us to do so.

    Best wishes,
Wayne Stokes Chairman Northernforties Reenactment Group.

  15. On behalf of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and our wonderful staff and volunteers at the Brighouse Charity Shop, we would like to say a big thank you to the organisers for allowing the Hospice and the Children of Carr Green School to be so involved in the weekends event.
Hosting a flash mob dance outside the shop meant that we created a lot of buzz and attention to our hard working charity shop! Thank you to everyone involved, well done it was an amazing weekend.

    See you next year!

PS thank you for using the wonderful picture to launch next year’s event!
