Step back in time as Brighouse goes back to the 1940s era on the weekend of 6th & 7th June
Come and see what life was like in this significant time in our history as the town centre and shops are transformed. You’ll be able to sit in a Messerschmitt, see Churchill, learn to dance the Lindy Hop or dance the night away to the sounds of the 40’s from the Ashby Big Band. This is just a flavour of the wonderful events taking place over this free family fun weekend.
The whole town centre will become the venue for a host of 1940’s events and displays from Spitfires to vintage vehicles, from home cooking to 1940’s dress and make up. Why not join in the fun and come dressed in 40’s style and help bring a real period feel to the town
Imagine seeing Brighouse as it was in 1945
On both days attractions include vintage military and civilian vehicle displays, a Winston Churchill lookalike, performances from 1940s singers and 100’s of re-enactors dressed 40’s style.
Visitors will also have the chance to climb in the cockpit of a full size replica Messerschmitt and enjoy displays from the Land Army, RAF, Dambusters, Scottish Highlanders and sample W.I. cooking to name but a few. If all of this isn’t enough, a vintage market will be held and youngsters will be able to enjoy period fairground rides.
