The first Brighouse 1940s Weekend attracted over 100,00 visitors.
Saturday witnessed the town be as busy as it has ever been. A lot of hard work and dedication has gone in to the Brighouse 1940s Weekend and it is extremely satisfying to see it be so successful. Even better, there have been the hundreds of positive comments, a selection of which are at the bottom of the page.
All in all, it was beyond our wildest expectations, so thank you to everyone who came and made it such a wonderful weekend!

On behalf of Northern Forties, we would like to congratulate everyone who helped to organise this weekend’s event at Brighouse. We rarely take part in events that are so well attended by members of the public so interested in our collections, and we are thrilled that this first-time event has proven to be a huge success for all concerned. We would like to thank you for organising the gazebos for us to display from, and the camping area we had at Thornhills Lane was a wonderful location with excellently clean facilities provided for our use.Our members thoroughly enjoyed themselves and would be more than willing to attend this event again if you should want us to do so. Wayne Stokes Chairman Northernforties Reenactment Group.
On behalf of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and our wonderful staff and volunteers at the Brighouse Charity Shop, we would like to say a big thank you to the organisers for allowing the Hospice and the Children of Carr Green School to be so involved in the weekends event.
Hosting a flash mob dance outside the shop meant that we created a lot of buzz and attention to our hard working charity shop! Thank you to everyone involved, well done it was an amazing weekend.
See you next year!
